Fishing Capital of the World The western gulf coast of Florida is famous for its great saltwater sport fishing. Charter a boat to fish the off-shore reefs or bring the kids to fish from the Venice Inlet jetty just 5 minutes away. It has a park and restroom facilities. Florida does not require a fishing license to fish from the jetty. We support catch-n-release. Local bait stores have fishing supplies.
There is something for everyone at this great location! While some of your family members are fishing or watching the boats come and go along the jetty, the others can search for shells and sharks teeth or just relax on the adjacent Nokomis Beach.
The Beaches - The locally popular Nokomis Beach and park is perfect for a picnic and is only 10 minutes away. Collect shells or the famous shark teeth of Venice, enjoy the sunsets with the beach drummers or hang ten. Don't forget to bring the beach towels, sand toys, beach chairs, and cooler all provided for you from our Paradise Retreat. The world famous Siesta Key Beach with its amazing cool powdery white sand is just 20 minutes away. This beach has been featured on numerous travel shows as "one of the top ten beaches in the world". 
Venice Inlet - Watch the boat traffic with the world class yatchts and charter fishermen.
Bird Watching - Our Paradise Retreat is located directly on the fresh water of Bird Lake. From our private pool lanai and hot tub watch the visiting tropical birds that congregate on the island in the backyard during sunsets.
